Escape the crowds and discover the breathtaking natural beauty of Puerto Rico's north coast on this guided adventure through Arecibo. Explore dramatic limestone cliffs, hidden waterfalls, ancient caves, and one of the island's most iconic monuments —all while travelling comfortably in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Your first stop is Río La Planta, a beautiful river known for its crystal-clear water, natural pools, and small cascading waterfalls carved into the limestone over thousands of years. This hidden gem is the perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy Puerto Rico's lush tropical scenery.
Next, visit the spectacular Cueva del Indio, one of Puerto Rico's most famous coastal landmarks. Located atop dramatic limestone cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this archaeological site was once used by the Taíno people. Inside the cave, you'll find authentic Taíno petroglyphs that are hundreds of years old, while outside you'll enjoy panoramic ocean views, impressive rock formations, natural arches, blowholes (when conditions allow), and breathtaking cliffs shaped by the sea. Your guide will share the fascinating history, culture, and geology that make this destination so unique.
The adventure continues with a stop at the impressive Birth of the New World (Christopher Columbus Statue). Standing over 350 feet (110 metres) tall, it is one of the tallest statues in the Western Hemisphere and a remarkable landmark visible from miles away. Learn the storey behind this monumental sculpture while enjoying incredible views of the surrounding area.
Before returning, make a quick stop at a local food stand where you'll have the opportunity to purchase Puerto Rico's famous fried snacks, including empanadillas, alcapurrias, bacalaítos, and other local favourites (food not included).
