What you can expect

Cappadocia is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, with a history dating back more than 4,000 years. The region’s fame comes from its volcanic soil many vineyards grow on pure volcanic tuff, a soil type found in very few wine regions worldwide, dry climate, and large day–night temperature differences.
These specific conditions result in low-yield but highly aromatic grapes, giving our local wines a distinct minerality, freshness, and elegance.

The rich wine identity of Cappadocia is deeply rooted in the legacy of two iconic local wineries: Turasan Winery and Kocabağ Winery. Turasan, founded in 1943, is one of Türkiye’s oldest wineries and a pioneer in introducing Cappadocia’s volcanic terroir and the indigenous Emir grape to the world.Kocabağ represents boutique winemaking, producing limited wines aged in volcanic cave cellars and known for refined Emir, Öküzgözü (Bull’s Eye), and elegant red blends.

Your tasting begins with a curated selection of local red, white, and rosé wines, Red wines are known for their balance of fruit, spice, and structure, shaped by volcanic soils that add elegance and minerality expressions. White wines, led by the native Emir grape, are crisp, dry, and mineral-driven, with vibrant acidity and citrus. Rosé wines are light, refreshing, and fruit-forward, offering bright red-berry aromas and an easy drinking style. These volcanic wines are known for their freshness, balance, and elegant aromas that cannot be replicated elsewhere.

To elevate the experience, wines are paired with a traditional Anatolian tasting plate, featuring products made only in Türkiye, earthenware-aged cheese, aromatic herb cheese, peppered olives, walnuts, mixed nuts, and naturally sweet dried apricots. Dried apricots are a regional speciality, perfectly complementing Cappadocia wines by balancing acidity and enhancing fruit notes.

This immersive experience offers more than a tasting. It is a journey into Cappadocia’s volcanic terroir, local gastronomy, and centuries-old winemaking heritage, all in one unforgettable moment.
