When booking, you pay ONLY FOR THE SAFARI through GetYourGude. Then PAY FOR THE TAXI (From Aluthgama to Tissamaharama and From Tissamaharama to Ella) US$-120 (up to 3 guests) with Visa/ Master or SL Rupees at Ajith Safari Office in Tissamaharam, before starting the Safari. Beyond 3 guests, TAXI FEE will be increased, US$54 Per Person.

In this tour, we are aiming to be in the YALA National Park at dawn or dusk. These are two of the best times of the day, which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, which is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. YALA is recognised as the National Park with the highest leopard density in the world.

What happens on a typical day on safari?

A. Pick-up time at 2.30 a.m. - in and around the Bentota/ Aluthgama/ Beruwala/ Induruwa/ Maha Induruwa area. All pick up times - (Morning Safari - 2.30 a.m./ 3.00 a.m./ Afternoon Safari 11.00 a.m.)
Earliest time in the Morning Safari (2.30 a.m.) is the most recommended. Adjust the itinerary times according to the pickup time you select.
The Taxi is an Air-conditioned car or minivan & on SHARING BASIS.

B. Get down from the Taxi at Tissamaharama.
Make the payment for the Taxi & Meals (if requested) at Ajith Safari Jeep Tours Office.
Get into the SHARED SAFARI VEHICLE - at around 5.30 a.m.
You can leave your luggage in the Taxi while you are going on the Safari.
Here, there's 30 minutes break in Afternoon Safari for you to have lunch.

C. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 1st Game Drive (Starting at 6.00 a.m.)

D. Break at Patanangala Beach in YALA National Park (20-30 minutes)
This will give you time to enjoy your breakfast

E. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 2nd Game Drive (Ending at around 9.30 a.m.)

F. Get down from the safari vehicle and get into the Taxi - at Tissamaharama at around 10.00 a.m.

G. Optional - If you prefer, take a 20-minutes break Near Rawana-Ella waterfall, on the way to Ella (Free of charge)
If you drop off in Wellawaya, you won't see the waterfall.

H. Drop-off in Ella/ Bandarawela/ Wellawaya area at around 12.00 p.m.

Your knowledgeable driver cum guide will regale you with insights into the behaviours and habitats of YALA's diverse wildlife.
