Discover the nuragic village of Tiscali, in the heart of the Supramonte, and let yourself be surrounded by the wild nature of Sardinia.
You will walk through oak and juniper woods, breathing in the scents of the Mediterranean scrub and admiring spectacular views of the valley below. After about an hour and a half of trekking, you will reach the top of Monte Tiscali, where a suggestive natural sinkhole opens up that houses an ancient nuragic village, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites on the island. Protected by the mountains, the village represents a site of strategic and historical importance.
Upon returning to base camp, you can enjoy local specialities and a glass of Nepente, closing your day with a flourish of trekking, history and authentic flavours!
ITINERARY
Meeting at the Lanaitho base camp and brief introduction to the route
Transfer by 4x4 (2 km) to the start of the trail
Trekking through woods and panoramic views of the Lanaitho valle
Arrival at the Monte Tiscali sinkhole
Guided tour of the Nuragic village of Tiscali
Return along historic shepherds' and charcoal burners' paths
Tasting of typical products at base camp
