What you can expect

Start your day with pickup from your hotel or hostel in Quito. We'll make a short stop for breakfast along the way to fuel up for the adventure ahead.

Next, you’ll visit a traditional Andean house located in the high moorlands, where you’ll learn about local customs — including the cultural importance of guinea pigs in Ecuadorian life.

Once in Quilotoa, prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking turquoise crater lake. You’ll have free time to take in the views, snap some incredible photos, or even hike down to the water’s edge if you’re feeling adventurous.

Later, we’ll stop by the Tigua community, known for its vibrant and colourful folk art. The artists here paint scenes of Andean life and landscapes on canvas and carved animal hides — it’s a wonderful opportunity to see local creativity up close and maybe pick up a one-of-a-kind souvenir.

On the drive back, you'll pass by the impressive Toachi River Canyon, one of the deepest in Ecuador. You’ll enjoy scenic views from the road as the canyon cuts dramatically through the Andes, offering a glimpse of the region’s powerful natural forces.

Finally, you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Quito, wrapping up a full day of culture, nature, and unforgettable landscapes.
