During a guided tour through the district “Nordstadt” you can discover the city from a complete different side.

The attitude towards life is relaxed, tolerant and peaceful. People meet for a chat in the cafés on Engelbosteler Damm, around the Luther Church or simply for a picnic on a meadow in the Welfengarten.

The more than 16,000 residents are a colourful bunch of students, young families, Nordstadt veterans and numerous unique specimens. There is a turbulent atmosphere, especially on the “E-Damm”, where there is always something going on at night.

Both the Georgengarten with its beautiful avenue and the Welfengarten at the university are wonderful places to stroll with a coffee or spread out a blanket in summer.
