Join me for a relaxed walk through the historic heart of Livorno and discover the city with a licensed local guide who knows it inside and out.

We’ll start around the old Medici harbour, where Livorno began to grow into one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean. From there, we’ll explore some of the city’s most fascinating landmarks, including the Four Moors Monument and the impressive Fortezza Vecchia.

Then we’ll continue towards Venezia Nuova, one of Livorno’s most beautiful and distinctive areas, with its canals, bridges and historic merchant houses. Along the way, I’ll share stories about sailors, merchants, different communities and the people who helped shape the city over the centuries.

But this tour is not just about monuments and dates. I want you to experience Livorno as a local would: its streets, its atmosphere, its everyday life and the little details that are easy to miss when you visit on your own.

Depending on the day and opening hours, we may also pass through the historic centre and the area around the Central Market, one of the liveliest places in town.

The pace is easy and informal, with plenty of time for questions, photos and local recommendations.

If you’re arriving on a cruise ship, this is also a great way to enjoy your time in Tuscany without spending hours travelling by bus. Livorno’s historic centre is close to the cruise shuttle drop-off point, making this an easy and enjoyable experience right in the city.
