Travel in style aboard Altitude Tours Mercedes Sprinter vehicles featuring panoramic glass roofs, leather seating, wool blankets, complimentary wifi and charging at every seat. With a small group on board, your professional driver shares insights into Fiordland's landscapes. Carefully selected stops along the Milford Road offer quiet moments and scenic photographs, with morning tea in Te Anau including barista coffee and fresh pastries.
In Milford Sound, step aboard the MV Sinbad — a beautifully designed small group vessel. Greeted with a glass of Cloudy Bay sparkling wine, dedicated hosts share cultural narratives and natural history as the fiord unfolds around you. A five-course tasting menu by chef Tom Hishon celebrates Fiordland's seasonal ingredients, with optional wine pairing available. Dietary requirements are catered for with advance notice.
Out on deck, feel the mist of waterfalls, spot dolphins, seals and the rare Fiordland crested penguin. The skipper tailors each cruise to conditions and wildlife activity.
Complete your adventure your way:
- Scenic helicopter flight with a dramatic alpine landing
- Fixed-wing flight over Fiordland's rugged terrain
- Luxury road transfer back to Queenstown in business class comfort
Piopiotahi Milford Sound is one of the world's most spectacular environments, and it comes with natural hazard risk. A large earthquake or tsunami is extremely unlikely during your visit, especially a short one. Even so, these hazards do pose a risk to life, and once you are there, your options to stay safe are limited.
What to do: If an earthquake feels LONG or STRONG, Get GONE. Move up and away from waterways (the fiord and rivers) as quickly as possible. If you see or hear a landslide, do the same.
