More than just a meal, this two-hour experience is a true cultural and sensory journey, a rare opportunity to experience the authentic Lapland.

Just a stone's throw from the legendary Route 92, en route to North Cape (Nordkapp), our experience takes you far beyond the usual tourist clichés. Here, there are no crowds or buses—only an intimate atmosphere in the heart of the Muotkatunturi Nature Park, amidst “Tunturi” hills, snow-covered forests, and frozen rivers. In this unspoiled setting, you will discover a wild and tranquil Lapland, where fire, wood, and nature are your travelling companions.

In our Lappish house, we welcome you for a timeless workshop. Led by our enthusiastic guide, you will learn to master the simple but essential techniques for lighting a fire in the arctic cold. Together, around the fire, you will prepare smoked salmon according to a traditional Lapland recipe.

Each participant gets their hands dirty. Regardless of your experience, the activity is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Here, we take our time: everyone participates, shares, and savours the magic of the moment. While the salmon smokes gently, you let yourself be enveloped by the hushed sounds of nature: the crackling of the wood, the whisper of the wind, the flow of the river… and sometimes, the unexpected visit of a lone reindeer.

Once the salmon is ready, it's time to share! You will enjoy this traditional dish together around a large table in our traditional log cabin. The atmosphere is warm and authentic: a wood-burning stove, fur rugs, soft lighting… a true Nordic haven that invites you to relax. Here, luxury lies not in the superfluous, but in simplicity and human warmth.

And if nature smiles upon you, the sky will light up: the Northern Lights will dance above you, creating a magical spectacle. Depending on the season, you may also be able to enjoy the midnight sun or the vibrant colours of the autumn ruska.
