Overview

  • The audio guide is a convenient mobile companion for a self-guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. The tour is specially designed to help you get acquainted with the site in a short time (1–1.5 hours). Follow the route on the app's map to discover the most consequential locations of the former camp.

    You will see the Crematorium, Firing squad wall, Medical block, Prison block, Arrival platform.

    The tour features 20 points of interest. All stories are written by professional journalists and historians and include quotes from the memories of surviving prisoners.

    Once you download the tour, the app works offline. The audio guide is always clear in your headphones. Listen to the stories at your own pace, without having to follow a group. You can pause to rest or skip the most difficult exhibits and continue whenever you wish.

    If you prefer not to visit museums alone, let the audio guide accompany you.

Auschwitz I, known locally in Polish as Auschwitz I or Obóz macierzysty Auschwitz, was the original camp of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp complex. Established by Nazi Germany in 1940 in occupied Oświęcim, it became a place of imprisonment, forced labour, torture, and mass murder. Its barracks, gates, courtyards, and preserved evidence form a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and Nazi persecution.
