What you can expect

Puerto Jiménez: Full-Day Sightseeing Tour to Estación Sirena – Corcovado National Park

Our sightseeing tour starts early in the morning from our Corcovado Wild Tours office in Puerto Jiménez at 5:15 a.m. We then walk to the public wharf, where we board the boat that will take us to the heart of Corcovado National Park.

The journey begins by crossing the tranquil Golfo Dulce for approximately 30 minutes, followed by about 45 minutes on the Pacific Ocean until we reach Estación Sirena, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. Arrival is scheduled for around 7:20 AM.

At 7:30 a.m., we check in with the park rangers and begin a guided hike along the Sirena trails. The tour is conducted in small groups of up to 8 people per tour guide, allowing for a more personalised experience and better opportunities to observe wildlife.

During the tour, which lasts until approximately 11:30 a.m., you'll have excellent opportunities to observe the park's incredible biodiversity.

It is important to note that boat transport is shared with other visitors. In addition, Corcovado is a very popular park, especially the Sirena Station, so it's normal to encounter other groups on the trails during the tour.

With a little luck, you'll be able to see howler monkeys, white-headed capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths, tapirs, peccaries, coatis, iguanas, crocodiles, and a variety of tropical birds such as scarlet macaws and toucans. Corcovado is considered one of the most biodiverse places in all of the Americas.

Around 11:30 AM, we'll take a break at Estación Sirena, where you'll have time to use the bathrooms or buy a light snack or drink before continuing.

From 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm, we'll take a final short hike along the trails, taking advantage of the last opportunities to spot wildlife.

At 12:45 PM, we board the boat back to Puerto Jiménez, arriving at the wharf at approximately 2:20 PM.

Recommendations for the sightseeing tour

To better enjoy the experience, we recommend bringing:

Comfortable walking shoes or boots
Light, cool clothes
Raincoat or rain poncho
Sun cream
Insect repellent
Head covering
Camera or binoculars
Reusable water bottle

We recommend travelling light, as the tour involves hiking along natural trails inside the park.

This sightseeing tour is ideal for nature lovers who want to explore one of the world's wildest and most biodiverse parks in a single day, accompanied by a certified naturalist tour guide in small groups.
