Day 1: A bus takes you from Lima to the city of Huaraz. After your arrival in the evening, transfer to the hotel for your first night.
Day 2: Travel along the Santa river valley, between the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra, to appreciate picturesque villages and towns like Carhuaz, Yungay, Mancos and Caraz, as well as the most important peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. Climb up to the Llanganuco Lakes for a spectacular view of their turquoise blue waters with a variety of plants and animals.
Day 3: Visit Chavín de Huántar, an ancient ceremonial centre dating back to one of Peru's earliest high cultures more than 3,000 years ago. You can appreciate its monumental architecture, with sunken plazas, underground galleries, and fine stone carvings. Admire the columns and cornices, and the “stone heads” surrounding the main temple, before you return to the hotel.
Day 4: Arrive back in Lima for your transfer back to the airport or your hotel.
