Start at the meeting point by the Ettrick Bay Tea Room, where staff will get you kitted out and run through a short safety briefing before you head onto the water. Your hire includes a SUP board, paddle, leash, and buoyancy aid. For an extra fee paid locally, you can also hire a wetsuit if you’d like added warmth.

Once you launch, paddle out into the bay to take in panoramic views of the beach and surrounding hills. Go solo, share the experience with friends, or bring the family—children are welcome when accompanied by an adult, and younger children may need to join an adult on a larger board option.

Safety and enjoyment come first: a dedicated rescue safety boat with a qualified driver is on standby, and each paddling group is issued a floating, waterproof walkie-talkie for easy communication with shore.
