Your experience begins with a meeting with the local guide at the entrance to Rocinha, where you will receive a brief introduction to the history, culture, and daily life of the largest favela in Rio de Janeiro. Then, we will start a mototaxi ride through the streets of the community, one of the most traditional forms of transport used by the residents. During the ride to the host's home, you will be able to observe up close the hustle and bustle of the favela, its unique architecture and the daily life of the community, enjoying an authentic experience of local life.
Upon arrival at the host's home, you will be welcomed into a family-friendly and cosy environment. On the roof of the house, overlooking the community, there will be a more detailed explanation of the history of the favela, its culture, interesting facts, and how the daily life of the residents works.
Next, we will start a fun class on how to prepare the traditional Brazilian caipirinha. You will learn about the ingredients, the preparation, and the history of this typical drink, and you will be able to prepare and taste your own caipirinha.
After the activity, a traditional Brazilian lunch prepared by the host's family will be served, with traditional dishes that vary depending on the day of the week, such as stroganoff, feijoada or BBQ. During lunch, visitors can relax, chat, take photos, and enjoy the view from the rooftop and the unique atmosphere of the community.
At the end of the experience, we will take a short walk through the community to the initial meeting point, where the activity will end. This way, you end the tour with an authentic experience of Carioca culture and life in Rocinha.
