Prepare to be amazed as you enter a different world, where a way of life continues as it has done for centuries, enabling you to go back in time. You will start this activity early in the morning with a drive through Zimbabwe's countryside. The hike begins about 20km downstream of the Victoria Falls. After a safety talk and procedural briefing, you will hike the steep descent down to the Zambezi River.
After some walking in nature you will get to an authentic African village where you are given the opportunity to watch local villagers going about their daily tasks. The tour enables you to see tribal life first hand, visiting rural homes, watching their fields being tended and possibly getting the chance to help in some of the day-to-day chores.
Have lunch under the thatched shade of the decorated mud huts. The graceful hosts are keen to show off their home, share their cultural way of life in relation to family, education, livestock, diet, and anything you may find interesting. You will be offered a traditional meal in a villager's home and share the meal with them while you learn about their lives and habits in the village. From here you will take the bus back to Victoria Falls, where you will arrive around 11.00am/11.30 am.
