Roll up your sleeves and discover the techniques behind one of Portugal’s most iconic pastries during a relaxed, hands-on cooking class in Lisbon.
Guided by our friendly chefs, you’ll learn every stage of making authentic pastéis de nata. Discover how traditional puff pastry is prepared, folded and laminated before making the creamy custard, shaping the pastry cases and baking your own pastéis until crisp and beautifully caramelised.
Your chef will guide you through the complete pastry-making process, giving you the knowledge and recipe needed to recreate it at home.
The experience does not end with pastel de nata. You’ll also prepare a second traditional Portuguese recipe, selected for each session. Depending on the day, this may be a savoury speciality, such as codfish fritters, or a traditional dessert, such as farófias.
Once the cooking is complete, sit down with the group and enjoy both of your creations accompanied by tea or coffee. Along the way, learn about Portuguese ingredients, culinary traditions and the stories behind the recipes.
No previous cooking experience is required. Come ready to cook, taste and take home practical skills—and two authentic Portuguese recipes—you can share with family and friends.
