What you can expect

  • Leave Adelaide behind and spend the day immersed in the Barossa Valley on our award-winning Taste the Barossa Premium Wine Tour. With an expert local guide, exceptional wines, regional food and experiences created especially for our guests, this is a relaxed and personal way to discover one of Australia’s great wine regions. Travel through the scenic Adelaide Hills as your guide brings the region to life with local stories, history and plenty of personality along the way. Rather than rushing between cellar doors, the day is designed to give you time to enjoy each experience and get to know the people and places behind the wines. Your first wine experience is at Kies Family Wines, a sixth-generation Barossa family winery in Lyndoch. Step beyond the usual cellar door and into the private barrel room for a tasting experience exclusive to Taste the Barossa guests. Surrounded by the working winery, discover a range of estate-grown wines while hearing the stories of a family that has been growing grapes in the Barossa for generations. Continue to magnificent Chateau Tanunda, one of the Barossa’s most historic and impressive estates. Dating back to 1890, its striking bluestone winery has played an important part in the region’s winemaking storey for more than 135 years. Take time to explore the estate before settling in for a structured wine tasting in this remarkable setting. Lunch is an experience in itself. Head to Melba’s in Angaston for a relaxed regional platter showcasing local Barossa produce, accompanied by your choice of a glass of Yalumba wine or soft drink. There’s plenty of time to sit back, enjoy the food and conversation and soak up the atmosphere. Before leaving, there’s something special still to come. Enjoy an exclusive private tasting bringing together Yalumba fortified wine and locally made Melba’s chocolate — a unique experience created for Taste the Barossa guests. The wine journey continues at Rosenvale Vineyards, a three-generation family vineyard and winery with a strong connection to the land. Settle in for your final structured tasting of the day and discover wines made from their own Barossa vineyards while hearing more about the family, their vineyards and the hands-on approach behind each bottle. Finish your journey through the Barossa along iconic Seppeltsfield Road. Take an iconic photo and listen to the stories of the Seppelt Family. Sit back and relax as we head back to Adelaide.
