What you can expect

  • WHAT MAKES THIS EXPERIENCE UNIQUE
Portoā€™s first Fado concert in the form of a show takes place inside the cityā€™s only shop that still hand-crafts Portuguese guitars. Here, Portoā€™s last remaining luthier plays the Portuguese guitar.

    WHAT YOUā€™LL EXPERIENCE
For around an hour, let yourself be swept away by live Fado, performed by local artists in an intimate setting with perfect acoustics. Enjoy the music with a glass of Port wine and explore the exhibition ā€˜A Journey Through Stringed Instrumentsā€™, featuring video explanations on the history of Fado and the Portuguese Guitar.

    WHY ITā€™S AUTHENTIC
Fado has been recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2011. This isnā€™t a show for tourists: itā€™s genuine Portuguese culture, in the heart of Porto, just a stoneā€™s throw from the Cathedral. On your way out, youā€™ll receive an illustrated postcard detailing the history of Fado through videos.
