Discover the Imperial City of Toledo on a guided walking tour through its historic streets and squares and learn why it is known as the City of Three Cultures.
During the first part of the experience, your guide will introduce you to Toledo's fascinating history and the coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures, whose legacy can still be seen throughout the city.
After the walking tour, you will have free time to have lunch, explore the city or relax before the Cathedral visit.
Important schedule information:
When the walking tour starts at 1:00 PM, the guided visit to the Cathedral takes place at 4:00 PM. The activities are therefore not consecutive. Once the walking tour finishes, you will have free time until the Cathedral visit begins.
For the Cathedral visit, please meet your guide at 4:00 PM at the traffic light in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, in front of Toledo Cathedral.
Your guide will then take you inside the Primate Cathedral of Toledo, also known as Dives Toletana (“The Rich Toledo”), one of the city's most important monuments.
Inside, you will discover its extraordinary artistic and historical heritage, including the Monstrance of Enrique de Arfe, which is carried through the streets of Toledo during the Corpus Christi procession; the impressive choir stalls; and the magnificent Main Altar with its spectacular gilded altarpiece.
As you continue through the Cathedral, you will discover El Transparente, an exceptional 18th-century Baroque masterpiece by Narciso Tomé. In the Sacristy, home to part of the Cathedral's art collection, you can admire works by renowned artists such as El Greco, Goya, Velázquez, Titian, Van Dyck and Caravaggio.
