Explore the capital of Sardinia on a 4-hour private guided tour. Start on the Via Roma, where beautiful porticoes shade busy shoppers. Then be driven in your private minivan to the sandy beach of Poetto, which stretches into the Gulf of Cagliari for more than 6 miles.

Catch a flash of pink as flamingos dance on the surface of the salt ponds at Stagno di Cagliari. Then stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria, a Roman Catholic shrine to the Virgin Mary.

Now for the walking part! Enter Cagliari's medieval quarters through the historic gates in front of the National Archaeological Museum; home to fine exhibits that recount the early Sardinian civilisations.

Pass the medieval limestone tower of San Pancrazio and visit the grand Royal Palace and Romanesque Cathedral. Wander down narrow streets to the Bastion of Saint Remy, and end your tour in the Marina Quarter where fresh fish is cooked and prepared in dozens of little restaurants by the sea.
