Relaxing Outing – Étang-Salé-les-Bains (approximately 3 hours)
We cast off and sail along the pristine coastline: Souffleur, the cave, the bird cliff, volcanic flows, and the coral reef on the horizon. Along the way, depending on luck and the season, you may encounter dolphins, turtles, flying fish, and, from around June to October, whales. Responsible wildlife watching (as nature is unpredictable, we cannot guarantee cetacean sightings on every excursion).
Stop at a sheltered spot for snorkelling (fins, mask, and snorkel), for those that wish to participate. Underwater: basalt seabed, coral heads, schools of damselfish, surgeonfish, and sometimes turtles. Duration adjusted according to conditions and skill levels.
After swimming: A truly relaxing time on board. Comfortable seating, relaxing music, and a cocktail. Sharing of interesting facts about the geology, wildlife, local maritime history, and reef life.
Return: If sea conditions permit and the group is up for it, a more dynamic return trip with a few safe, fun accelerations. Otherwise, a relaxed return.
Spirit of the experience:
Small group, friendly atmosphere, nature first. Strict adherence to approach distances, angles, and times. No chasing, no surrounding. The captain will adjust the route, pace, and speed based on the weather, sea conditions, and the presence of wildlife.
Practical information:
• Meeting point: Bassin Pirogues pontoon, Étang-Salé-les-Bains (opposite the L’Été Indien restaurant), 10 minutes before departure.
• What’s included: Professional skipper (Cédric), snorkelling equipment, life jackets, cocktail.
• What to bring: Swimwear, towel, sunglasses, reef-safe sun cream, light jacket (it can get windy).
Options
• Private bookings (families, companies, tributes at sea).
• “Sunset” option: Same programme, golden light, swimming depending on conditions, cocktail offshore before dusk.
