Discover Nara in a relaxed and personal way, accompanied by a local guide. As this is a private tour, you can enjoy the city at your own pace, with time to learn about its history, take photos, and discover aspects of Japanese culture that often go unnoticed.
We'll start at Todaiji Temple, one of Japan's most iconic landmarks. Admission to the Great Buddha Hall is included. Inside, we'll see the impressive bronze Big Buddha statue and learn about Nara's importance as an ancient capital of Japan.
Afterwards, we'll stroll through Nara Park, where the famous deer roam freely and are part of the city's identity. You'll be able to get up close to them and feed them with the traditional deer crackers included in the sightseeing tour. You'll also have time to take photos and enjoy the surroundings at your leisure.
Next, we'll walk through the sacred forest that leads to Kasuga Taisha. We'll visit the shrine's areas with free admission, surrounded by stone and bronze lanterns, while the guide shares its history, traditions, and spiritual significance.
Finally, we'll head to the historic Naramachi district. If you wish, we can stop for lunch at a local restaurant, and your guide can recommend options based on your preferences. Lunch is not included.
Afterwards, we'll stroll through its quiet streets, past old merchant houses, small shops, and corners that retain Nara's traditional atmosphere.
At the end of the sightseeing tour, the guide can accompany you on foot to the station or to an agreed-upon location in central Nara. As this is a private experience, the pace of the tour can be adapted as far as possible to your interests and needs.
