In the company of our tour guide, we will discover the monuments and traditions of this very pleasant seaside city, which has always been an important trading hub. We will start from the Stazione Marittima, a masterpiece by the architect Zaha Hadid, and cross Piazza della Libertà, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city: from the beautiful waterfront promenade to the Arechi Castle to the elegant 20th-century buildings overlooking the sea. We will venture into the alleys of the medieval city in the historic old town to discover the secrets of the city, famous for the Salerno School of Medicine.
We will continue towards San Pietro a Corte, the palace of Arechi II, a Lombard prince, and, through Via dei Mercanti, we will arrive at the Cathedral, a very important Romanesque monument, with its beautiful atrium, its precious pulpits, and its wonderful crypt dedicated to the Apostle and Evangelist St. Matthew.
