Ostuni is one of the main tourist destinations of Puglia. Referred to as the “White City”, it is famous for the houses painted with white lime in the historical centre. Almost 21-meters high, the column was built in local stone by Giuseppe Greco in 1771 as an ex voto, later it was used for protection from famines and epidemics carried out by the saint.
