What you can expect

  • Take part in traditional Alaskan activities, even in the summer. Pay a visit to the Seavey family estate and receive a guided tour of sledding champion Mitch Seavey's home and kennels, then take a scenic dog sleigh ride along a lush trail in the rainforest.
    Visit the kennels to learn of the Iditarod competition, the Seavey family, and Mitch Seavey's participation in the historic race. Afterwards, meet the dogs and hop on a cart for a two-mile ride across one of the most beautiful trails in the Seward woods.
    Following the ride, seize the opportunity to interact with the dogs and get a tour of the equipment used on the Iditarod. Take some time to ask any questions, hear about the Seavey family's many sledding achievements, and enjoy some coffee or hot chocolate.
