Capture all of the beautiful scenery and fascinating history that Scotland has to offer on this full-day guided tour. Travel up to the Highlands, pass by iconic sites, including Stirling Castle and Doune Castle, and listen to stories that bring you closer to the country.
First, leave the city behind and drive past Stirling into the medieval town of Doune. Discover the mighty building dedicated to the Duke of Albany before continuing through Callander. Crossing the Highland Boundary Fault line, you leave the flush meadows of the Lowlands and head into the dramatic mountains.
Stop for a short break at Loch Lubnaig, also known as the “crooked loch.” Then continue through Balquhidder, the resting place of Rob Roy. Travel to Kilchurn, home to a magnificent castle perched in the centre of Loch Awe, and take advantage of a great photo opportunity.
Wind through Campbell country and arrive at the enchanting town of Inveraray. Set on the shore of Loch Fyne and home to both an 18th-century castle and glorious gardens, it makes an ideal setting for a leisurely lunch and exploration.
After free time, it’s back on your coach for a climb up the dense Arrochar Alps to the Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint. Admire verdant landscapes and take in the fresh Gaelic air. Then descend to the village of Luss where you can enjoy views of Loch Lomond, the largest inland waterway in Britain.
Finally it’s time to return to Edinburgh with a brief photo stop at the base of Stirling Castle.
