In this tour through the centre of Bogotá you will get to know this interesting city, its different contrasts and the historical events that have transformed Bogotá into what it is today. At the beginning of the tour you will learn about the legend El dorado, the Spanish colonisation and the founding of Bogotá. We will go to Plaza del Rosario where you will learn about the informal emerald market in Colombia. We will walk along Carrera 7ma and you will learn about El Bogotazo, an uprising that wreaked havoc in the city in 1948. Then, you will visit Plaza de Bolívar, which is home to important government buildings. We will walk through the area of La Candelaria, a colonial area that houses old architecture, here you will get to know an interesting drink present since pre-Columbian times called Chicha, you will learn about the urban art of Colombia and at the end of the tour we will have a fruit tasting in the market La Concordia.
