My husband and I were staying here while visiting Barcelona for a few days. He booked this hotel solely for the view of La Sagrada Familia. The view didn’t disappoint from the rooftop bar and it was very visible from our room too. However, the view from our room was also very close to local housing and not enjoyable. The rooms are tiny and old and definitely need some maintenance done. I saw reviews where some people said there was rust accumulated in areas. I don’t know if it was rust or something that was spilled but it definitely was accumulated around floor corners and made the space feel very unclean. I took a towel and cleaned what I could. The bathroom is very tiny and difficult to get ready in. I can accept that this area is dense and accommodations are smaller but just feel like it needs to be noted for future travelers.
Most of the staff were friendly but there was a female at the desk who was less than helpful and didn’t have a very friendly demeanor, which should be the 2 biggest attributes of a service industry worker.
The location is great and easily walkable.
It’s slightly strange (different from the US) that the key has to be inserted into a slot in the room to run the electricity. I didn’t mind that but just surprised. Kudos if that’s in an effort to conserve energy.
