This place was awesome and food amazing!!! The staff was so kind and helpful! My ATM would not allow me to take cash out of my card until the bank opened. A very nice women that worked at the counter helped me figure out transportation for me to my next spot until my bank opened in America. This soften my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I’m lost for words on how nice this was for me when I was literally stuck with no options or ideas.

Fußläufig zum Strand, wenige Meter bis zum La Brisa - Beachclub. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten & Restaurants zu Fuß erreichbar, für alles andere kann man über das Hotel Roller mieten. Hotel ist nicht mehr das neueste aber Sauber und Gemütlich. Netter kleiner Pool auf dem Dach wie auch im Lounge-Bereich. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber vollkommen ausreichend ausgestattet. Ein Minus ist die schlechte Schallisolierung. Wenn man Abends nicht selbst bis in die Nacht feiern will hat Beschallung, Ohrstöpsel einpacken. Servicekräfte sind freundlich und reagieren schnell. Alles in allem für das Geld eine gute Unterkunft, würde auch wieder hier einchecken.

Well placed. Nice rooftop with pool. Nice coworking space. But beds are not the most comfortable, bathroom needs a complete redo, definitely not well maintained and found socks under the drawers so no full floor swipe between customers. Overall still an ok hotel with a good price

This is a great, basic accomodation for people who want somewhere to stay nearby the beach without frills. The room is bright and well-sized for one or a couple, the bathroom is decent, and the common area downstairs at the cafe is comfortable and beautifully airy (the the small garden with the tiny pool is also pretty). The hotel concierge were also so so so lovely and helpful - when I arrived I didn't have enough small change to pay my driver for the ride from the airport, so one lady broke a IDR100k note for me, and came out to help me settle my fare with the driver; she also later leant me a travel adaptor to use during my stay as I had forgotten to pack my own before leaving. One thing worth bearing in mind is that sound carries very easily between the rooms. On my first night the noise (talking, watching tv, showering) from the guests in the connecting room to mine kept waking me up, as well as other drunk guests on the same floor passing through the hallway late in the night. If you are a light sleeper, DEFINITELY BRING EARPLUGS.

Simple cool but no poolside food
Location was good but note its next to The Lost City a music club so u can hear music till.4 am thurs to sat nites. Everything qas minimal and fine but pool bar was lacking experienced staff. Wine was bad. And no finger food available..not even fries. But pool deck was simple but very nice. Overall well done and will stay again for a quick and easy place.

Hi Jacquelynne, We are sorry for the inconvenience. The Lost City (club next to us) is close forever and wont be open again, we put soundproof in out window and door so it will be more comfortable for guest. We just open restaurant and caffe which you can order food for breakfast. Looking forward to welcoming you again :)!

Great new hotel with a sleek design. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, while the look is both beachy and industrial. Rooms are spacious and simple. Lots of space to hang or store clothing. Worth noting that the area is in significant development due to popularity and therefore construction is happening all around, some of which goes through the night as building laws differ in Indonesia.

Great stay at Good Story Surf Motel! Awesome location less than 5 minutes from the Echo Beach! Spotless rooms, cold air conditioning and clean bathroom were all I could ask for! The roof top bar & lounge were great for sun tanning! Only downside is the "driveway" to get to the hotel. Very dirty, a lot of construction and not welcoming to guests walking to and from the street- especially on the first impression. (but this probably isn't the hotels fault, I would be complaining if I were the owner though!)

When I arrived I was very disappointed to find that there was no bar fridge provided nor were there simple tea/coffee facilities. Instead there was a kettle on its own heavily lined with lime scale. The main disappointment was no bar fridge and so my medication turned off. It was my first visit to Bali and a very disappointing one. The most basic requirements of any accommodation, even low budget, they failed to provide. Lastly the poor communication skills by the staff. Wont be returning.

New hotel near Eco Beach with loud building work
The surf motel is in a great area a short walk from eco beach. The hotel is also evidently recently built, which means the rooms are nice and new, and the price is low for the area. Most of the staff, particularly the bar staff, were lovely and the rooftop pool was a nice bonus. This hotel is however in the middle of a building site with hotels going up on either side; directly facing all the rooms from what I could see. The rooms are also very basic, and the noise level from the hallway is very loud, with no insolation whatsoever. The daily room clean was not great, and the shower impractically filled the entire bathroom with water. I would say that this is a bare bones hotel with a good location. If you want a low price and don't mind loud noise from other guests and building work I would say go for it.

Clean Hotel with Friendly Staff
Our stay at the Surf Motel was good. There is a lot of construction in the area, so there was a lot of noise, but otherwise the room and hotel were accurately represented on their website, and the staff were friendly and helpful! Definitely a good choice and in close proximity to the beach and great restaurants!

Nice common areas. The rooms were a bit too small and simple for us, probably suites younger people. The beds were hard but comfy and the AC and Wifi was really good. There are constructions going on all around the motel and some of the workers are living in shackles just outside. Since it gets really dark at night it did not feel safe to walk to the motel by myself.

Pretty nice new place near Echo Beach
The hotel is reasonably nice. It’s nothing flash, but does have a nice rooftop pool and bar, and lounge on the ground floor. It was busy when we booked, so some of our favourite places where gone. This was a decent choice for the price. The bed was par, no fridge, tv or tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Best place to stay in Canggu
I stayed only 2 nights in Surf Motel but I highly recommend this place for anyone, solo traveler, backpacker, couple... The staffs are really nice and they always make sure that your stay is comfortable. Also the room is clean and nice and I liked all the details, mellow beach atmosphere. Great place to stay in Canggu!

Brand new hotel steps away from Echo Beach
I loved my stay at Surf Hotel. The staff was super helpful and quick to answer any questions on Whatsapp. The place is very modern as it's only a few months old. I was very pleased in realizing how close we were to the beach and my favourite beach club, La Brisa. It was great to have access to two pools including an infinity pool on the rooftop. A few things that could make the hotel even more comfortable: - 4 pillows per bed instead of 2 - A mini fridge - Sunshade on the rooftop beds - Sofa pillows on all the rooftop chairs - A restaurant with basic snacks like smoothie bowls (they made delicious juices already!) I'm definitely thinking of coming back to Surf Motel next winter. Looking forward to see what it looks like then!

Overall a great stay
The Surf Motel was exactly what we needed. Central, stylish and good wifi. The hotel staff is super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. There is construction work going on around the hotel (as everywhere in Canggu) and Clara and her team were extremely accommodating in providing solutions to avoid the noise while I was working. Thank you so much! The best part of the Surf Motel is their rooftop. The bartender Nicky is awesome and we would enjoy fresh coconuts, cookies and dips in the pool while getting some work done in the sea breeze.
