"One night stay to experience the Periyar reserve close by. Our room was enormous and located near the very back of the property. Sadly building works are directly next to the property so we heard angle grinding. Mgr tried to stop them but only the rain did. Staff amazing. Food delicious. Great cocktails and beers. "This hotel being a 5 star is a joke. The rooms are very old and the bathroom had a very bad smell to it. The room was not maintained well and was dirty. I have stayed at numerous 3,4, and 5 star hotels all over the world. This was by far the worst hotel and experience. The hot water did not work properly for showers and the lights went out at least once an hour. "We were 17 adults. I booked 7 rooms 4 months ago . I stayed ooty sterling 2 nights ( all 17 ) Kodikkanal sterling had terrible experience. First they don’t have big vehicles access to resort. Second they accommodate 7 rooms , but they charge for 2 adults 3790 for even sleeping in the floor. For 3 days trip they charge me over $ 3000.00 . Very bad "

"The rooms are well appointed and clean and cosy. The breakfast is nice and the lunch and dinner was tasty. The staff is friendly. The bathroom needs a wider range of toiletries especially shower gel and dental kit. Also, mineral water should be served.. The shower place should have a small shelf to keep shower gel and shampoo. Towels and face napkins should be placed without asking for them."
