"Even though we where supposed to be a VIP customer, we received a room with a small window facing a construction a few feet away. After I asked for another room they put me on a "waiting list" shortly after I got a call that they might have a front room but there would be an additional charge of 90Euro a day. After I talked to a manager, they reduced the surcharge to 50Euro a day. We took the room which was very nice and had a great view."

"The location is great. Hotel staff are not very helpful. I had to ask 3 times to have an iron finally sent up to my room. The worst part for me was that my sink and shower both drained very slowly. I let the hotel know and they had someone come to make sure the drains were ok, but it continued to be a problem. My stay was ok. I wouldn’t there here again though."

"Very nice hotel, everyone was friendly and always ready to help out if needed. Our room was nice, confortable and clean. Everything was great except for the food at breakfast that was not warm enough. Other than that, all was good! We loved the Magma that overlooks the Douro River. "The overall stay was good but I just wish the check in process were better that they could have inform us a little bit earlier before we arrive or checked in. I emailed them before arrival but they reply really late. We stayed there from Sunday to Wednesday and there's a change in the gate code to get inside the building. They never informed us. They told me to email me the new code instead of just saying it directly and I waited for their email which never came. So I have to call them and ask...

"This hotel is beautiful inside, very clean, and with a great location. We walked to all tourist attractions during our two days stay, and there were multiple good restaurants within walking distance too. Inside the hotel there are water bottle refill stations available. Also, coffee and snacks vending machines in the main lobby near the elevators. It was also very easy to request an Uber to the airport from the hotel. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone."
