I want to note that the 2 rooms booked were for our standard category, and we provided a complimentary upgrade for 1 room to our Deluxe Room, as we did not have 2 empty that we could upgrade too. We try to upgrade our guests (for free) as much as possible, and usually they appreciate the gesture. Hello Benjamin, We are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your recent stay with us. We understand how having a cockroach in your room upon arrival would start things on a sour note. We want you and future guests to know that we do have a contracted company that sprays our rooms when we have issues, which is rare. It’s too bad it seems this made your note notice some of the extras of our 3* accommodation, like 280 thread count linens, the added bonus of having complimentary pool / gym access at our sister property, and didn’t try using the concierge service by picking up the phone in the room etc. so we could have fixed your issues immediately. Because Karon is all desalinated water, there is a reddish brown tint to the water on occasion (it’s not unsafe) and that causes white grout to pickup a brownish tint within a year. It also stains our Non Slip tiles faster than other types of tiles, that’s why many hotels use slippery wall tiles on their floors so they’re easy to clean. But we feel bathroom safety is more important. We will be re grouting the bathrooms as well as making other improvements to our guestrooms.
