Check-in was a terrible experience. Zero customer service, and the manager treats customers like criminals. The room's toilet was unusable without a toilet seat and would not flush properly. The room itself was not cleaned, and had broken floor tiles. The rooms are not well-maintained. The air conditioner did not work properly. The television did not work at all. The manager will claim they provide a good service for the cost, however, this is not the case. This place is a slum, not a hostel. As someone who has stayed in quite a few hostels, this one is by far the worst I've ever seen. Avoid at all costs.

Worst hotel experience for my life so far. At check in, a blonded hair tip dark skin guy had a conversation with me similar to below, impressive: " our check out time is 10 to 11" "Can I be a little early or late just in case I was in middle of things?" "No our check out time is 10 to 11" "Ok" "So what time are you checking out?" "10 to 11" "What time are you checking out?" "How exact the time you need?" "You are asking too many questions, what time are you checking out?" "10:20 to 10:30 then" He explained to me their staff is living far and need long transport time, then started lecturing me for a few minutes and repeated a few times that for the low price I paid should not expect stay like a king, if not because of some reason (Expedia penalty?) he would cancel my booking and let me go, and I shouldn't book their hotel next time. What?! I travelled quite a bit lately to HK from mainland and every time solo I stayed in the cheapest or 2nd cheapest single room, the experience was all from good to very good. The guy is in the wrong industry, and not well informed. The room, toilet did not flush, no leg room so had to sit to the side, room door stuck to floor and needed to be pushed open etc. For a night, I wouldn't waste the time of my tonge. But haha its so odd I still remember

This is the most unforgettable, worst, and scariest guest house I have ever stayed in in my life. First of all, the boss's attitude is very bad and rude. When you stay here, you will be treated like a prisoner. The room is super filthy, so filthy that you will have If you have sensitive skin, there will be a group of rats running around outside your room in the middle of the night. The screams of those rats will be unforgettable for your whole life. I couldn't sleep at night for fear of rats entering the room. After staying here for a long time, I often had nightmares. I dreamed that the room was full of mice and it was so dirty that the mice would run into the bed.

죵맬 쵀약이얘엽 절때절때 이 굣에 묶으묜 안돼엽 다른 후기들을 보고 여길르 믿고 거르지 않았던 제 자신이 후회스러울 정도로 최악이고요 위생,숙소,주인, 어느하나 만족할 것은 없습니다. 제 인생 최악의 슉소입니다. 슬립뻐도 없고, 4일을 결쩨했는데 하루만 보내고 바로 다른 호텔로 결째했습니다 .정말 최악입니다. 믿꼬 거르쎄욥. 최악의 굥험을 하고 싶다면 바로 이곳입니다.

Soend more money and stay somewhere better. So many bad options in Hk on places to stay though. Dirty place just like all the other ones. Staff was nice but place was a dump

1.새벽 체크인을 해준다고했으나 사람이 없어 당일 다른 방을 잡아야했음. 2.그 다음날 방을 달라고 했으나 방이 없다고 체크인을 하지못해 결국 또 다른 방을 잡아야했음. 3.숙소 방이 없어 다른 숙소 방을 대신 줘서 1박 묵은 뒤 다음날 숙소방을 준다고 짐을 카운터에 맡겨두면 방에 넣어준다고 했으나 오후 6시까지 그 전 손님이 방을 비우지않아 밖에서 기다려야했음. 4.숙소 샤워기 따뜻한 물이 나오지 않음. 5.직원과 의사소통에 문화적차이로 불편함이 있으니 니부분 고려해서 숙소를 선택하세요.

We are so sorry you had to go through such ordeal while checking in at our hotel. Our check in time is till 10:30 PM and although we do accommodate certain requests, it is very difficult to arrange check in during the middle of the night, we are a small guest house and we do not provide a 24hour reception. We are still very sorry that you had to face these issues and we will try working on improving our check in timings to better suit our guests in the future.

We are so sorry you felt that our cleanliness was not up to your standards. We do understand the location of the guest house is in the city centre with an immense crowd of tourists resulting in the property building looking rugged, but those conditions are out of our control. We at taj follow a very thorough cleaning process inside our property where all the rooms are cleaned, dusted and prepared before every check in. Our guest house is certified by the department of HADLA and rated by the Hong Kong tourism board as an excellent stay for budget travellers and backpackers, we understand how it might not have suited your needs very well but we try to provide the best we can in regards with our pricing. We hope you could give us a chance in the future to provide you a better experience the next time.

The owner very tries to satisfy the guests. But this does not cover up the fact that A filthy filthy place in an old building Full of Indian restaurants and the smell is unbearable. Animals and cockroaches, spinning around, including mice running everywhere, shady people wandering around and out of the building.

Thank You for your response, our company manages the guest house inside the building the external factors are unfortunately out of our control all of your comments reflect what you felt about the building not our property located inside. Chungking Mansion was labelled as the world city as recent as 2017 and there is a mixture of Indian, Chinese , africans as well as tourists from all over the world residing inside the building. There are Indian restaurants, money changers, souvenir shops, jewellery stores as well as electronic stores located inside the building. Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, the property pricing are sky high and finding a budget hotel is difficult. We strive to serve people who are looking for a very reasonable stay in Hong Kong as the costs for our rooms are usually 10% of what an actual hotel would be. We make sure our guests understand that they are booking a guest house and not a hotel and thus our location and amenities reflect on the price. Once again we apologise that you felt such during your stay.
