This is an amazing place to stay steeped in history. The rooms are well laid out and overlook both the grounds and the pool. A warm welcome and great hospitality awaits and it is definitely the staff that make this property even more inviting. They all go above and beyond to help you. They strive to give everyone individual attention and are especially welcoming towards children. We have stayed in several different hotels from high end luxury to BandB but this is definitely the best, the people make the place!

If being quiet and tranquil is your thing, this is the perfect place. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The cocktail hours with canapés were delights. The pool was clean, calm and beautifully pointed. The garden sprayed a tropical elegance. All in all was a rather pleasant stay for us. Highly recommend!!!

Fabulous birthday trip
So relaxing to spend a couple of days here after a stay in the city. The pool is beautiful and we loved our pool access room with the jacuzzi area on the patio. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Service was super friendly and thoughtful.

Very quiet and relaxing hotel with friendly and very efficient service. Colonial reminiscent decoration gives the extra comfort touch. The daily cocktail (4:30 pm to 8 pm) with drinks and canapés at no extra cost is a plus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay over the New Year albeit the wet weather. Every staff, even the security at the basement lobby were extremely friendly and made us feel at home the moment we checked in. We stayed in the Premier room on the 2nd storey. It was clean and cozy. Breakfast and evening canapé were sumptuous, enough to fill us up the whole day. Were gifted with goodies and a bottle of Prosecco with a handwritten note to usher in the new year. Loved the tranquil ambience, truly relaxing break for us and a memorable experience for our boy.

Great stay and lovely environment
Great service and atmosphere. Room with direct pool access was a little small, but cozy. Bathrooms were very generous in size and took up half the space. Very quiet on weekdays that was great for relaxing and doing absolutely nothing, while enjoying the all day snacks and beverages. Food quality was lacking. The only breakfast item that good was the nasi lemak, everything else was mediocre at best.

Beautiful Barracks hotel 💓💓
The staff are so friendly n very personalised in their service. My birthday was on 17, and I checked in on 18, and they even gave me a surprise birthday cake with balloons n a teddy bear with a song of course!! They have touched my heart and I will definitely go back again. Beautiful hotel and not congested and last but not least, the breakfast was awesome !

Great hotel but expect flaws
The service standards are high overall but do not expect the level that is mentioned by many reviews I read before going. Its not impeccable. For example, you read about the Jeep and Buggy services, but even at the hotel current 50% capacity, its not easy to reserve. So dont expect that you be able to get around easily with these services. The bed room itself is small since the washroom takes up 50% of the room space. its fine if you are there as a couple and if the washroom separater is always left often. if you have young kids around and require you to close the door, the room does feel small.

Staycation suggestion for Singapore residents
This is a nice boutique hotel. I love the pool in front of the room. The best time to swim is in the morning or evening. The services provided by the staff is excellent!! RWS with many restaurants is within walking distance. As a Singaporean, this is a great staycation location.
