My wife and I where impressed by the vintage quality of the hotel. Excellent service and attentiveness. Excellent breakfast. Super centralized. You can walk to any restaurant or tourist location. I got some sort of allergy, maybe due to the dust. The bathroom floor was not that clean. You get water outside of the bathtub because of the small portion covered. This could become a dangerous slippery floor. The hotel should correct this item.

Really nice old hotel
I read some mixed reviews about this place but was happy to find it was excellent. The staff where exceptional, nothing was a problem. It is right in the old town and is from the 17th century so don’t expect a Hilton but it is unique and the location and staff are excellent. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderfully unique
This was our second stay at the Gabbia d'Oro and in an age of uniformity it is wonderful to stay at a hotel with it's own unique style and character. Not only does the hotel have great style but the service is also excellent from the check-in / out process to the amazing breakfast.

Incredible hotel. Beautiful room. Very special and unique areas throughout the hotel. The team is amazing. They actually guided us to the hotel. Valet parking. An incredible greeting. We were set up at a great restaurant nearby. Grazie Beatrice!! A really special hotel in the heart of Verona. Buonissimo!!

Great service and very helpful staff. Perfect location close to piazza Erbe. Breakfast is good with well made coffee and eggs cooked on request. Also a huge selection of fresh fruit and sweets. Only negative aspect is the lack of freshly squeezed orange juice, but that is of course the standard in Italy regardless of how many stars the hotel has.

A nice small hotel in a central part of the town. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast menu is a little limited though.

5 star is wrong category for this property
Friendly staff and welcome, but we stayed in 2 small, dated rooms en-suite, which were sold as a 'junior suite'. The standard was far from what you can expect from a property that is categorised 5 star. Bathroom has no natural light, which is OK had it been modern, but it has not been renovated for years. Would not have looked at this property, had it been categorised correctly. Stay in a regular room for less money at LHW just around the corner and get the real 5 star experience. We paid €303.58 via Hotels.com plus €50 for valet parking. Price for LHW Due Torri Hotel on the same night was €295.00.

Dear Mr. Strandgaard, I think that € 8,00 it's not a big difference,and it's bold to compare two different hotels especially without testing the quality of sleep, the breakfast in the morning, your rating arrived at 11pm day of check-in. Valuation of an Hotel should be considered on the basis of various aspects. I'm glad you know now where to stay next. Regards

This is an 'old world' style hotel and the public rooms cluttered with soft furnishings. I find the practice of caging birds for human amusement unacceptable and was saddened to see two birds imprisoned in a tiny cage in the lounge. If your expectations include courteous reception staff, constructive engagement from a manager when an issue is raised, a concierge service that understands 'fine dining' and a detailed electronic version of your accounts - then this is probably the hotel for you.

A unique and charming place
Hotel Gabbia d'Oro is a charming place -- with no limitations on what the staff will do to make guests happy. The building and rooms are unique (in a good way), the location is the best in Verona and the entire experience is a delight in every dimension.
