Started out quite rocky when the front desk failed to answer the telephone for an hour, despite my repeated calls while being transported from the airport (my flight was delayed, I was calling to tell them I was on my way and not to give up my room). Panicking, I got to the hotel and the front desk person greeted me and when I said I had been calling (and emailing and messaging through the Expedia app) for an hour and was freaking out thinking I would be stranded in downtown DC late at night - her response was that she had had a large group checking in and couldn’t get to the phone. She heard it ringing - repeatedly - but just left it while checking in the group. I was - and still am - gobsmacked. I had tears in my eyes from panicking in the car and she didn’t really seem to care.
Got to my room and it was fine - not anything to write home about except the light switch didn’t work so I traced the main lighting fixture to a plug in the wall and unplugged it to make the room dark. Bathroom was tiny and I could barely fit my hands under the sink faucet. Bed was comfy, though and the AC worked great so I slept pretty well.
The included breakfast is actually pretty gross and served on paper plates with plastic utensils. Not recommended and this whole experience was definitely NOT worth $500 a night.
Definitely do not recommend (at any price) and am grateful my stay is over.
