"Second time we have stayed at Combe House. Once again the facilities were very good, the staff were efficient and polite and service quality was excellent. We dined in the evening and the menu had sufficient variety and the food was very good. A quiet hotel in lovely surroundings. Highly recommended"

"Apologies to the knights rest, but we didn't actually stay there. I booked it on the day for 2 nights through hotels.com. However ten minutes before arriving at our destination the hotel rang me to say that they were closed and on holiday themselves. They apoligised and said hotels.com should have checked their diary and not booked any rooms out. They would be putting in a complaint via Expedia. "The bedroom was a beautiful room but a bit tired but it seems the rooms are being updated,the en suite had been already.What makes The Old Ship Aground stand out head and shoulders are the staff,every single member of staff was delightful,they were happy and took an interest in each guest,never experienced it anywhere before.
