We arrived at the hotel at 2:45 to a queue into the carpark for check in.
This queue lasted 50 minutes.
We were in the city to see Taylor swift (the third night of the show)
There was one member of staff on the desk meaning the queue was not moving fast and all customers were becoming frustrated. The doors for the show opened at 5pm.
To be told when we get to the front of the queue only one room was ready?? Check out was 10am which left 5 hours for rooms to be cleaned but we still waited nearly and hour to reach the front of the queue.
We were told by the desk “it’s ok we will give you one key and all 4 can get ready in one room?” This is an Ibus budget, 4 people wouldn’t fit stood up in the room!
We returned after the concert at midnight to queue AGAIN for another half an hour for the key to the second room.
This concert was a year in the making why was this hotel not prepared? The majority of the city was closed due to the volume of people, why did Ibis not have sufficient staff to cope with the demand? The hotel inflated prices as soon as this concert was announced, but didn’t make any preparations to cope with the demand. It was also day three of the concert how was this not learned from day one and two of the concert?
The hotel wasn’t clean, was understaffed, the appalling queues made us late for our once in a lifetime concert and the staff were not unapologetic in the slightest.
I would like a partial refund for the appalling service and standard.
