"Great place and location "

"The young man with glasses that worked the front desk was great. He was considerate, kind, and willing to help anyway he could. When i take my Mom to Iceland, we will be staying here."

"We had the private room and bathroom and it was more like a luxury hotel than any hostel we could imagine. Comfy beds and a rain shower! Also conveniently located just up the road from the Black sand beach and a short drive into Vik. Beautiful views from the room as well! Would highly recommend "

"Nice and quiet."

"This is not a comment about the Start Hostel but about Expedia which seems to have deteriorated dramatically as a service provider in recent month. I went to check in for my stay starting May 28th - 29th and the system booked a room for me for May 27th - 28th. When I attempted to contact Expedia on their Virtual Chat or to Cancel the reservation, the system gave an error and would not let me do the same. Start Hostel was EXCEPTIONAL in trying to help in every way possible. Get it together...

"Property was great ! Very good free breakfast especially since Iceland is expensive. Next door is a hostel to stay at which has a living area and kitchen too if the rooms are booked fully. "

"Great Stay! Very clean and quiet. Well stocked kitchen in case you want to cook your own meals. Also very close to the main hotel in case you want to grab a meal at the very quaint restaurant. The Spanish waiter at the restaurant is excellent. Only one supermarket and gas station nearby. Closes early "

"I really enjoyed the single capsules and the open kitchen plan, as well as the quiet/respectful guest arrangements. I will absolutely stay here again, and for longer if possible, as it’s very quaint and it’s in the middle of the town. Thank you for an amazing stay and keep up the amazing work!"

"This was such a cute little hostel! The kitchen was very cosy and had everything that someone might need. There were lots of washrooms so never had to wait. The rooms were really cozy and everything was very clean. Will be coming back here on our next trip!"

"Rooms are very tiny and hard to even open large bags. Kitchen area was fine but there were just too many people using it at the same time. Pricing is higher compared to what they provide. "

"This was an awesome small hostel, one of the best I've ever stayed at. It's obvious whoever designed it has been a backpacker themselves as small things like free lockers (if you have a padlock (you can rent on if you don't, but who doesn't have a couple on their zippers on their bags?) are located outside of the dorm rooms. Important as someone looking for things isn't noisily doing that in room with others. Likewise the toilets and showers (all seperate individual stand alones, I think there...

"We had the cabin and it was AMAZING! Just a cozy, wood cabin vibe. Three rooms so lots of options for our group (I think there were 8 beds total). The kitchen space was a bit small but had everything we needed. The host who greeted us was the best. We are not sure his name, but serious appreciation to him. The property is a working farm close to a beach and the Elephant Rock formation. 10/10 would recommend!"
