Unfortunatley when I went to check in I was informed that Sultanhan Hotel could not accomodated me for 1 of my 2 nights booked and I would have to move to another hotel for my alternate night. The Desk manager at Sultanhan was very kind and helpful but I was very disappointed about having to change hotels after just 1 night and requested a 2 night stay in the same hotel. He arranged for me to stay both nights at the alternate hotel but they then informed me on my 2nd day that I would have to change rooms. So I ended up not staying at the hotel I had carefully selected (Sultanhan) and had a disruptive stay as I had to pack up and move rooms 1 day to the next.

Lovely and elegant hotel, I very much enjoyed staying at the Sultanhan. The lobby is very attractive and the staff is exceptionally welcoming and helpful. My room was nicely decorated. Some rooms have a balcony; I was able to sit and enjoy the views. The breakfast was also very good, and is on the 6th floor with panoramic views of the boats on the Bosphorus and the city.

Although the hotel is fantastic in terms of location, decor and views, especially from the restaurant, going to breakfast was a real highlight. I had a problem with a light sensor in my room in that it stay on if the aircon was on. If I switched off the a/c then the room was dark but very hot. I didn’t get a good nights sleep. I the front desk twice and spoke to the receptionist in person. Each time they promised to send someone up but they didn’t. I was only there three nights so I chose to put up with it as the other factors outweighed the light. Issue. And I would stay there again.

Excellent hotel with a fantastic breakfast and staff. The most wonderful start to our trip. Thank you so much to the staff of Sultanhan hotel and special thanks to Mr Engin Dagcı. Truly efficient, organized and great location/ value for money . My wife and I got upgraded to the presidential suite for our one night layover in Istanbul on the way to Morocco from San Francisco. Highly recommend it we had limited time and wanted to see everything. The hotel is walking distance to all major attractions so we saved a lot of time and the rooftop has the best breakfast/view. Definitely coming back here next time.

The reception, restaurant, and cleaning staff were very friendly and kind. The room was very clean and comfortable and the mini fridge was an appreciated asset. We stayed in Sultanhan Hotel for almost a week, and we loved it. It's located in a very quiet street, and yet 5 minutes walking distance from the main attractions like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc. Street cars, restaurants and retails stores. Breakfast, one of the bests we ever had, that includes fresh honey served from the very honeycomb, is offered from a beautiful terrace with an amazing, 360 degree view, from the Old Istanbul. Rooms are spacious, elegant and classy. But washrooms definitely need an upgrade as the stayed in the sixties and sometimes a full odour was coming from the pipes.

Location location location. Walking distance from Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar. The T1 T2 trams was conveniently located within walking distance. The facility was nice enough and clean enough. What sold us was the location.

This hotel is perfectly located to Old Town sites (literally minutes to walk everywhere), while still quiet and quaint. The staff were all very attentive, especially when our daughter took a tumble and needed some ice/mending. The hotel itself is older (though well kept and updated), so sound insulation isn’t what it could be- we always sleep with white noise anyway though. Beds were good, pillows great, breakfast was wonderful. They upgraded our room to have a French balcony.
