HOTEL
Perfect for 2 nights as a solo female traveller. V.comfortable bed, I slept very well.
There is an office building immediately next to the windows (view directly into their break room/ a couple of office floors)
The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful & accommodating. There is free luggage storage for early arrivals & late departures.
Conveniently close to the subway.
TAXI SERVICE:
Awful experience that left me scared, in tears & almost missed my flight as a result. The hotel staff kindly booked me a taxi to the airport for my departure. So the hotel staff side of things was great!
The taxi service itself was scary. Upon arriving at the Terminal drop off at airport the driver said they only take cash. I was not told this upon booking. The driver could not speak English so we were having difficulty communicating that I only have card. They started driving away from the terminal saying they would find an ATM for me to take cash out.
They took me around Queens side streets for 40 mins as most were closed (it was Sunday) & I was panicking. Ended up going to a Walgreens ATM, I was scared to leave my luggage so they gave me their car keys to go in & take out money. I came back to the car very upset, scared & worried I'd miss my flight. I called the hotel from the car in tears & they said they should absolutely accept card & this has never happened before.The hotel kindly refunded my destination fee.
The scary & unprofessional taxi service they use should be avoided!
