I liked that it was very quiet and private.. it’s a very basic hotel but the views of the ocean really do make up for what they lack in pizazz around the property . The pool.. I wouldn’t swim in the pool 😬

The photos of the property look way nicer than reality. The room was okay, albeit outdated. The two issues that will never ever bring me back are the bed was terrible, and the smell of raw sewage was disgusting.

It’s very lonely and scary at night with no amenities checking in no one offered us help with our luggage so we had to drag them in the sand all the way to our room the bar staff never offered us drinks we had to go get them ourselves I would never recommend this hotel the staff here is very unprofessional

Wonderful hidden gem
The hotel staff was very informative and helpful w responding questions, it's located nearby dream resort, without having to do the all inclusive options. The rooms and bathrooms are huge, all buildings are walkable from the reception and facing the ocean, i stayed at the far end building #5, very quiet and calm. Room and bathrooms are clean simple and comfortable. The only i wish is the restaurant would open abit later than 5pm as there's no other dining around the property, receptionist did suggested delivering service available. The bench by my building is not very clean as alot of seaweed were accumulated. Otherwise a great stay, i got to see sunrise daily on my 3 days stay.

I loved that our room is right on the beach. The “caleta”, was amazing, listening to the sound of waves while in my room was very relaxing. I did not rent a car so we had to rely on taxi for transportation which was expensive for the short drive to town.

Good location and facilities. Only issue they have people coming out from other hotels to spend the day inside of the property and it gets crowded on the caleta side. Food is very expensive inside , but since Tulum is about 10 minutes away , you can get out side and get a better food and cheaper

Very cool place . You have 4 things in one place. Caleta, beach , cenote and pool. Love it. The view is amazing. The only thing they need to improve is some repairs on the rooms. Other Than that everything its ok

The Beach and ocean are amazing. The cenote was very unique. The staff were all great. For the price, it was well worth the money. The only real negative was that the bar/restaurant closed at 5pm and there was no other food or drink options after than that.

Outside Tulum
No frills at all. Far away from everything including a store. Taxi was expensive. The beachclub has ok food, but closes at 5pm. There is a small refrigerator in the room, but no kitchen and no grill on site that I saw. The lady at the front desk was awesome. All the rooms were steps away from the beach which was awesome. We were in building 5 and the beach was very rocky. Building 1 or 2 has a sandy beach. All in all, I would consider staying here again, but I would rent a car and request building 1 or 2 to be in front of the beach.

Not bad.
I loved the beach/ocean front! No WiFi in the room. We decided to stay another night and changed buildings to have a room with WiFi and the WiFi did not work so that was annoying. You could tell the rooms have been recently remodeled. My recommendation to the hotel is to have working WiFi in the rooms and to invest in a tractor or crew to clean up the beach in front of the resort. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Snorkeling was cool in front of the resort, waves were a bit strong though.

Our best stay in Tulum! Amazing Beach
My only regret is that we stay there the last day of our trip. I wish i would known how nice the beach is there. Rooms are very nice with lots of space an amazing view. hot water AC.

Wow! What an incredible property. You really are right up against a national park. The beach is very private—I was able to run along it singing my heart out with my music blasting and I didn’t see a soul. The caleta is a wonderful option for getting in the ocean in a protected space. The cenotes on the property are small but beautiful and peaceful. There’s a pool but with so many options, I didn’t use it!

Great Location to enjoy beach but unfortunately rooms need attention and needs to be updated. Some lights were non functioning, extra door lock not working, wifi non functional etc.

Not worth it
Hotel is in desperate need of maintenance. It has a lot of potential, but paint is peeling, rebar popping out of the chipped off concrete, extremely old beds and bedding, furniture stained and uncomfortable, chairs ripped, I could go on and on. The airconditioning in the first room we had smelled awful; a strong ammonia-like smell, so awful that we needed to have our room changed. We found cockroaches in both rooms we stayed in. It's a hotel that looked like it was probably nice 10 or 15 years ago and no one has touched it since. As far as the grounds, they also have a lot of potential and some very pretty forest paths, but the pool was not cleaned at all during our stay. The beach is full of seaweed and unusable, but that is typical for the region at this time. The caleta in front of the property (rocked off portion of the sea) is very pretty, clean, and nice for swimming. The cenote on property is fine, an average open-air cenote.

I can never say enough about how under rated this hotel is. I’ve stayed many places around Mexico. Caleta Tanka is serene. It takes my breath away every time. All rooms have the most amazing view! Staff are really helpful, kind and professional. The pool has recently been completely redone, they have been making many updates. The cenote in the jungle is private and you can snorkel to see many beautiful fish. Snorkelling can also be done right off the beach as there are also many colourful fish. My only regret every time I stay here is not staying long enough! Don’t hesitate, stay here and take in Mexico’s nature at its finest!

This boutique hotel is by far my favourite place to stay I have been here often. Last year I left my daughters iPhone 7 in the room. I had already boarded my flight back to Canada but I promptly called the hotel and the front desk gentlemen retrieved it and put it into the safe. A few weeks later a friend picked it up for me and safely brought it back to Canada. I have never felt unsafe here. This was in the summer of 2019. This year the seaweed is much better. The shower has amazing water pressure compared to other place in Mexico. The view of the ocean is jaw dropping! Stay here!

The property is gorgeous. The drive in and through the property was mysterious and exciting. The pool was clean and warm. The beach has a lot of rough sands so you need to wear water shoes and or sandals. The water was warm and clear. Amazing view.

Private & quiet getaway in a beautiful spot all to itself just a few minutes north of Tulum. Spacious and comfortable room, right on the beach with its own porch and lounge chairs. You’ll need to rent a car to get around. We enjoyed this retreat after a busy day in Tulum or at the sites nearby (Coba, cenotes). Only downside was no kitchen (though there’s a fridge and kitchen sink/counter) and not much of a restaurant on the premises (wouldn’t recommend the breakfast, for example). So if you can get by without cooking, or going to one of the many great cafes in nearby Tulum, you’ll be fine.

We adored our stay! The beach and cenotes are simply amazing! My 3 year old daughter loves the cenote right off the beach because it’s sheltered from the waves of the beach. The view from our room was breathtaking. It was my birthday so they gave me the room I requested. Front desk staff were very helpful and polite. Restaurant staff were also very accommodating. I’ve stayed a lot of places in Tulum. I’d you want the best view this is your hotel. There is seaweed but there is seaweed at all resorts in the area so I don’t let that bother me. We prefer the natural beach anyway.

Great location if you have a car. Worth the price. No wifi offered in rooms. Some did have wifi, but maybe you have to pay an extra fee. I may have missed that information before booking.

The resort seems to have been recently upgraded, painted and redone. I read past reviews and was really sketchy on staying here but I'm glad I did. It's very basic, no TV. But power outlets, air conditioning, mini fridge. but the reason to stay here is not those things. If you want a beautiful view to the ocean right out from your room, like 15 feet away. this is the place for you. on the down side, the seaweed problem is real here. water close to shore brown like coffee. the coleta is clear and everyone swims there. I'd come back.

I had a reservation for sunday 2, 2018, and I arrived around 8 pm and there were no cars at the parking lot. I ask the guard how much would be for a taxi to go to Tulum because I dont like to drink and drive. He answered me 200 pesos, then I asked him why the place looked so lonely and responded back with a tone "this is not the hotel this is the club". I ask him politely "how do I get there?" And his attitude got worse and replied " You can't go there, this is private property" I was shocked with that response and asked him why? He replied " its only for people with a reservation" I stated that I have a reservation and he tried to apologize and mention that he had my key, but at that moment I just drive away from that place and stay at another Hotel. I understand that I came in flip flop sandals, and I had sand from the beach in Akumal and the showers were closed. I just wanted to get into my room and take a shower. But I had this negative experience.

We had such a great time. Rooms are large, the ocean view was the best as well as the cenote and caleta. Very unique place for a peaceful and quiet get away. I truly recommend this hotel. Hotel rooms and overall building could use an upgrade maybe paint at least.
