Had a amazing stay at this resort! The room was very spacious, and came with a private pool! The staff is very nice, and made us feel very special.

The experience at Purana was incredible. You feel like you are walking into a rainforest paradise as you are walking to your room. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and it was definitely worth it. We felt like royalty for a whole week, especially how the staff took great care of us. Response time for any request was very quick. The only reason I did not give 5 stars for cleanliness is that the outdoor eating area will obviously get a little dirty but that is to be expected. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is the place Stop looking for another hotel
Amazing boutique hotel! Loved our stay here. Shuttle into town was a bonus but it’s easily walkable to town in 15 min. So peaceful. Staff are wonderful and helpful. Felt like home fright away. Looking for a driver ask the staff for ketut! He drove us around all week to see the temples and waterfalls highly recommend him. Thanks Purana for a great week.

Hidden gem
Terrific property for your complete relax. I was traveling to Bali by myself and it was the best place to start my vacation with complete relax in one of their villas. Beautiful bedroom and pool, very nice breakfast, great people. I totally recommend!

My husband and I booked Purana's private villa for two nights. Special thanks to Tude (not sure if spelt correctly) for giving us a tour of the room and its amenities upon our arrival, providing us with a complimentary feet massage, and for attending to our many queries on our first day patiently. Thank you Putri and Riya for bringing over the birthday meal with lit candles on my husband's birthday. They came over personally from outdoors to our room though it was raining heavily that day. We really appreciate the warm and friendly hospitality experienced here. From the daily warm and sincere smiles, and attentive service, to the thoughtful layout of the place and its facilities, we highly recommend this accommodation for other travellers in Ubud. This place is about 1hr 15 minutes' car ride from the airport. Potential con: As this is an outdoor villa, there is the inevitable couple of house lizards and mosquitoes. There is insect repellant provided in the villa however.

Home away from home
I really don’t know where to begin. Everything about this place was GREAT! From the welcoming to the very end. When we first got there Agustawan was very polite and kind. The service was excellent and the breakfast everyday at the Villa was delicious. The staff went above and beyond for my wife and I. They shuttled us when needed, even though it wasn’t apart of their regular schedule. They even booked a driver to take us to the Safari and even to our next resort. I really want to thank the staff there for making our stay incredibly pleasant. To name a few Arya, Agustawan, Putri and Tude. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. SUKSMA!

Amazing staff but poor amenities
While I’d love to give this hotel a 10, I simply can’t. The staff was unbelievable and beautiful but where the resort falls down is the pool. We had a 2 bedroom villa and the pool was green on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay. We called them as soon as we saw the pool was green but they didn’t seem to do much. We paid a lot of money to not be able to use the pool and we were quite upset. In fact, on the day we were to check out, we opted to leave ASAP because we couldn’t enjoy the pool at our private villa. We told the staff a few times and expected to be compensated but they offered us nothing. Kinda disappointing to say the least.

Very friendly staff and well kept property. A bit set back from the main area of Ubud but they provide a shuttle. Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is made to order daily and delivered to your room. Only negative was WiFi wasn’t great.

A smile costs nothing yet gives so much. ………………………….. And boy did they give us lots and lots of smiles. All of the staff were so friendly, so warm with ever present smiles on their faces which gave us smiles on our faces. The villa was fabulous, traditional feel but still modern and pristine with our own crystal clear swimming pool. Loving, tasteful touches everywhere with the decor and flowers. Beautiful landscaping, lush with frangipani and hibiscus it was truly beautiful. Food was delicious with wonderful breakfasts served to us in our villa. Getting intimate with the beautiful Balinese culture through things like cooking classes with Chef Noru was a highlight. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they looked after us with a professionalism and warmth which was both non-intrusive but so embracing and welcoming. Whether you want to be pampered and relax or explore the surrounds through the village and rice paddies Purana was perfect. Don't forget to do a cooking class with Chef Noru and impress everyone back home. Bring your smile. You'll definitely be leaving with one. Heaps.

My husband & I stayed here for about a week & enjoyed our stay! We had no issues everything was perfect! The staff was the best ! They were professional, friendly, and thoughtful. My husband & I got to know the staff when they assisted us with our breakfast ordering, room service, and massages. Staff was always waiting for arrival back from our excursions & asked how or day was. At check out they presented us with a refreshing drink and bracelet. Resort was quite. If you are looking to stay away from busy tourist areas we would recommend to stay here. It close by Ubud Monkey Forest & shopping in Ubud.

An incredible stay - can’t wait to go back.
I’d just like to say how fantastic our stay at Purana has been. We stayed in Rama villa (one bed pool villa) from 11 - 15 February, and we can’t wait to go back. The hotel resort and facilities are brilliant, we couldn’t have chosen a better resort to finish our holiday and for our first stay in Bali! Thank you so much. We’d like to thank Nita for being our butler. She has been outstanding and so attentive, she always made sure we were happy and comfortable - we will miss her so much!! She is a credit to the team! We’d also like to thank Arya and Tude for their help, they are always smiling and happy. Thank you also to Chef Noru for his cooking class, and for the meals he served us each night from the restaurant, the food was delicious and We loved the Pisang Goreng (fried banana). We’ll miss all the staff and we hope that when we return to Bali they will still be at Purana. Couldn’t recommend this place enough for a relaxing break in Ubud, and will be staying here again the next time we’re in Bali! Thank you to Nita and the team for making our trip so memorable. We miss them already...
My wife and I just stayed 2 nights in a one bedroom villa at this beautiful resort for our honeymoon last weekend. I was intrigued by the sincerity of people's review on hotel.com and wanted to find out for myself. To say the least, I was not disappointed. The staff were quick to greet us as family upon arrival full of smiles and it was evident that they wished to find out more about you in order to maximise your comfort during the stay at the villa. We were welcomed with a beautiful cucumber infused drink and then to our room where we were spoilt with a short foot bath/massage. Rooms were in top notch conditions and having stayed at a high end villa in Semniyak a day before, we were still impressed by how spacious and beautiful the villa was. The photos on the site does not do them justice. Throughout our stay they were always attentive and in most cases they went over the top to ensure that our stay was comfortable. Shuttles to Ubud center was regularly provided (5 min drive without traffic) and staff were happy to provide any insider tips on haggling in markets and ideas on places to visit. A scooter hire was also promptly provided when asked. Dinner and massage at the resort were one of the best we had in Bali. The staff provided complimentary drop off at airport (as we stayed 2nights at the villa). We thank Agust, Nita, Adhe, Putri, Today and all others who made our trip one of the best weekend of our lives. We will be back next year in March at the latest!

Vacation Here and You Will Want Stay Forever
We were so pleasantly surprised by this little gem in the countryside just 10-15 minutes from central Ubud. Our family stayed in two adjoining, second level guest suites. We enjoyed having our daily breakfast on the balcony that overlooks lush tropical foliage and rice fields. Our rooms were spacious, beautiful and comfortable. The bathrooms were spa-like with large bathtubs and separate showers. We ate at the restaurant for two meals and enjoyed the Indonesian food. What made the hotel even more special was the friendly, attentive staff who took such great care of us from the minute we were picked up to when we were dropped off at the airport. We took advantage of the free shuttle to central Ubud, tours and in-room massages from the hotel. This made our first time in Bali so easy. Before we even finished our vacation, we knew we would definitely come back and stay at Purana. Next time we will definitely secure a villa as it is even more luxurious than we had imagined.

Good staff yet bad maintenance
The staff of this resort were very friendly and cheerful. You feel you are welcomed. Yet basic facilities like water system did not work properly. I was shocked when blackish, dirty and smelly water came out from the tap. They were quick to rectify it but it was really disappointing. Moreover there was no hot water on the first day and sometimes water was not there or just trickled down from the tap. Then I was expecting the resort with paddy fields around but there was hardly any paddy fields; more of houses and small resorts and more resorts are under construction.

Worth the money!
We stayed for 3 nights and it was peaceful and cozy. Facilities are all brand new, since this hotel has been a year only. Staffs are very very kind and always smile, room is lovely, swimming pool is a bit small but enjoyable. Also, their food....is excellent! (with refined and sweet food decorations, we recommend Japanese cuisine - beef and chicken rice bowls were good) Especially, I would like to thank to Ms. Putri who has a beautiful face and kind concerns. :) We will stay here again for sure! Thanks for making your trip bright and memorable. :) XOXOXO

Incredibly comfortable and relaxing honeymoon
Every detail of our villa at Purana was exquisite. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our 7 days at Purana were an unforgettable experience and I hope that we get to come back some day.

A must do...
This Boutique Resort is just amazing. We were picked up at the airport at 11.00pm and greeted with cold towels and a very helpful driver, Agst, who made the 1 hour drive very interesting. The location is in a small village 15 minutes from Ubud, very peaceful. We had a suite, top floor, great views and lovely breeze. The room was large and very comfortable. The staff cannot do enough for you. The food is amazing, we ate breakfast, afternoon teas and dinners at the resort. We also had Agst for a driver for half a day and learnt a lot. Definitely coming back.

Amazing!
Highly recommended! Purana was so good we've cut short our other plans to go back again. The pool villa was amazing and service excellent. The staff made everything very easy and comfortable. Breakfast was the best I've had in Bali so far and the tour we took was very enjoyable. Would absolutely recommend, can't wait to go back! : )

Small resort but big on quality
The resort opened in July 2016 and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, making sure that our stay was enjoyable. Resort is located in a quiet area away from the central Ubud area, but easily accessible by the resort's free shuttle service.

Just a beautiful place to stay
We just loved our experience at the Purana Boutique Resort. The staff were Amazing so helpful. Our villa was very well appointed, a great pool for dipping in and cooling off. The shuttle service into Ubud was excellent and to the airport if you required it. The breakfast was great delivered to your villa set up at the dinning table by the pool. We ate in the restaurant the food was very good, room service for food and drinks was also excellent. We would highly recommend Purana Boutique Resort it was just an exceptional experience. Thank You

Brilliance in Ubud - Couples, Families or Singles
Exceptional quality of service. We stayed in 2 bed family villa and the team at Purana went above and beyond to make our stay and time in Ubud at the highest standard. We have travelled all over the world, including Bali 3 times. the rooms are extremely clean, highest quality furniture and linen, bathroom supplies are generous and luxurious. Butler service and personal shuttle service only a few mins into town. Purana boutique resorts food is amazing and accomodated well to our children's fussy requests definitely the best ubud resort without the crowds and located in natural surroundings

simply wonderful!
I booked initially 4 nights at Purana, but I simply could not leave and stayed 7  The hotel is brand new. Everything is so tasteful decorated in a perfect match with the environment. Is totally spotless! Clean, cozy, peaceful! I stayed in the suite. Service is exceptional! You are simply spoiled at Purana! From the warm welcoming to the bedtime stories waiting for you every evening on the bed. The staff are beyond carrying and attentive! Food is delicious! Breakfast can be served in your room and you have plenty of options. The terrace of the room is facing the forest and the pool. Is so amazingly peaceful! You just hear the sound of the water and the forest. The hotel is 10 minutes away from the center of Ubud and you have a free shuttle bus starting 10 am until 10 pm. And what really makes the difference are the staff at Purana. They are simply amazing! Warm, king, carrying, friendly and so genuine!! Big thank you for these outstanding kids – Nieta, Agust, Putri, Adi, Toude, Dedik, Arya! I definitely recommend Purana without any second thoughts!! Is simply wonderful!

best staff ever!!
I originally booked Purana for 3 nights but ended up extending for an extra 3 nights because I became so comfortable with the staff and my villa. I highly recommend the 1BR villa with a private pool!! Every morning you're served breakfast right in your outdoor kitchen patio area and it is bliss!! They have a great breakfast menu with a HUGE selection! I have a bunch of food allergies but as soon as you tell them your preferences they tell all of the staff so that no matter who is serving you or taking your order, they know what the deal is. I had Putri as my 'butler' and she was AMAZING,always so happy and helpful. The villa was absolutely beautiful and I felt at home immediately. Purana is about a 10 min drive from Ubud which I thought was perfect, Ubud is such a crowded and overwhelming place that I loved going back to Purana for some peace and quiet. They also have a free shuttle to/fromUbud and they even came to pick me up when a shuttle wasn't scheduled. I did the morning trekking through the neighborhood around Purana and also the cooking class they offer with their chef; both were perfect!! The cooking class was a bunch of fun and the food was plentiful and delicious, I recommend if you do it to start around 11-noonish (the class is about 2hrs and then you eat!!) The staff is what really set Purana apart because they really go above and beyond for you. They really make you feel welcome and special. I will definitely stay there again if I come back to Ubud! 10/10!
