Good acomodation booked in with the new property owner Kurt, we were the second transaction made on his hotel account, chap by the bar beat us to no 1 position by a matter of minutes, Kurt had recently bought the Castle Hotel friday the 1st of September was his first day so basically hit the road running! He explained theres going to be big changes / improvements over the coming months so watch the space, as a New Zealander the bar area is going to be a sport bar area with some great rugby camaraderie shown throughout, obviously other sports will be shown as and when and we wish Kurt well in his new venture, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning in the future.
Lovely staff very friendly.
Breakfast was fantastic.

Comfortable hotel close to the sea
Comfortable hotel in a lovely old building. Lovely staff - especially chatting over breakfast (they do offer a full cooked Welsh!). Street outside can be a little noisy, but quietened down by the night time.
Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Room spacious and clean, bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had.
The bathroom tiles the grouting need a really good clean and pillow protectors need washing after every guests the mattress was standard really badly trafic noise was bad .cheek inn was at 3pm but romm wasant ready until 4pm breakfast was lush but wouldn't stay again

Ok for a 1 night stay
I’ve never stayed in a room above a pub before so it was an interesting experience. The room was basic but ok but the bed was not very comfortable. The bathroom was freezing. There was a towel wrack which looked like it may heat but it didn’t work. Breakfast was ok.
Central to shops and the harbour . The hotel is effectively rooms above a pub with all rooms up a steep staircase at the rear. Check in was behind the bar which closed at 6pm on the night we arrived !! .The room was small with a basic en-suite and the roadside location made it noisy. This was overpriced and well below expectations

Rather a lot to pay for an average room.
A wonderful location in beautiful Aberaeron.
A little disappointed with the room. For £126 a night we’d expect a much better shower. Towels were ok and breakfast good. There is limited accommodation in the town here so I guess prices will be pushed up.
We ate at The Cellar - a fantastic restaurant.
Lovely , clean and newly refurbished room and great breakfast

Good but could do with improvements
Lacking attention to detail when cleaning. Stained tea spoons, dark dirt spots all over the tv and previous toothpaste in the toothbrush holder. The room overlooked a 24 hour bakery with noisy fans and flickering floodlights every time they use the door.
Bed was comfy and breakfast was nice and exactly on time. The hostess wore her ppe. The location was brilliant for exploring the town being right in the centre. Parking wasn't an issue as we got a space in the free car park opposite on the quay side.
Visited just after lockdown so a difficult time for a hotel to cope with. Staff managed very well under difficult circumstances. Would stay again when things are back to normal.
From arrival we were disappointed! There was no welcome we were just made to feel like we were an inconvenience being there! The room did not reflect the photograph at all! The windows were very dirty around the frames, the bathroom was cramped with a broken light in the shower, both hooks on the door had snapped off a while ago (the brackets were left attached) and the shower needed a full work over with lots of visible damp!! Not great for anyone with asthma and allergies! The kettle in the room needed replacing a long time ago as the amount of damage inside meant that the boiled water was extremely metallic in taste! Although the young lady cleaning was polite and lovely, she needs further training on professional cleaning! The stairs are extremely steep, long and slightly dangerous! The only redeeming feature was the breakfast which was really good and the lady cooking was polite! Way too expensive for what you get!!

Birthday weekend
Centrally located though noisy our room overlooked a busy road. Also smokers outside and as it was warm revellers outside until late. Room basic though clean. Breakfast excellent and staff polite and helpful.
There are lots of places to stay. Check them all this was one of the most expensive places and it is no way worth the money they are charging.
Old rooms old tv’s extension leads falling apart that are plugged in to reach the kettle.
The windows have wooden shutters that have been fitted so badly you might as well have not had them they let so much light in.
The tv is one of the oldest I’ve seen in a room in a log time. The remote was worn out you couldn't see the numbers or even how to turn it on. Breakfast was poor raving about the bacon but the sausage was unedable!
I think maybe the owners should invest some of the high cost of the rooms back in. Buy a new tv. Install better Wi-fi. There is also no parking. Be careful some on street is free where others you can only park for a limited time
