Great stay

Quite a remote location but if you have a car you’ll be fine. Lovely villas, and the one we had was wonderful as it had the added bonus of a back garden (only 4 villas on the entire complex had this). Bit of an issue with bird poo in the outside patio areas so could do with the occasional mop out there but other that that the villa was spotless.

Exceptional lodging
Our stay at Castro Marim was a last minute decision. A one night stop in our itinerary on the Algarve coast. We did regret we could not stay any longer our villa was exceptional. 2 BR, 3 BA. The staff directed us to a very nice restaurant although the clubhouse had its own. This would also be a golfer paradise. It is 2 kms from the Spanish border and it. Could be a great extention to an Andulasian trip.

Really good break and location as close to beaches and Spanish border. Only complaint was the pool was cold and not heated which resulted in our 18 month old getting cold quickly. If this was heated it would have been perfect.

Nice villas and quiet when we went in October. Only downside the beds were too firm for all of us. Shame there wasn’t a small shop to get essentials rather than going into town. A car is definitely needed

Nice house
Resort is very nice, house was great, pool and snack bar also very nice. There is no cleaning during stay but it was ok. I was surprised trash cans for plastics, glas etc were locked and they provided information they dont use it. I have seen sorting trash cans almost everywhere in Portugal but here it was just "for image". There is almost everything in house but no thing lke tablet to dishwasher. You have to go to reception and buy one... But overall it was very nice stay and I can recommand it to everyone.

Great hotel with a couple hiccups
We stayed in a villa, it was beautiful and close to the pool. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need, except dish soap, and a bottle opener. We had a power outage in our unit and an alarm was going off, but no one responded to the alarm. The phone was disconnected so we had to visit reception twice before we were attended to. Power outage was due to a faulty toaster.

Great Golf Resort
Fantastic find, fab villa great for two couples. Furnishings, bathrooms all quality finishings. Courses (3x9 holes) all in great condition and can be played in different sequence. Excellent value for money, a definite return trip.

Great stay - just short of a 5-star experience
The staff and set-up of the villas and complex are to an excellent standard. This includes the golf courses, that were in a beautiful setting and very well tended. A majority of employees went out their way to provide extra service, though the service staff around the golf didn't shine so well as the facilities and reception personnel. What let the experience down was just a few touches that could have made 5-star: basic cleaning amenities in villa to aid its' upkeep, a clearer transparency of food hours and better distinction in its online sources as to what is offered in Summer against the autumn season. Final point - definitely hire a car if staying here.

Villa was excellent. Home from home in comfort.
Swimming pool was excellent . Either swimming or just sitting by it with a glass of wine !! Please realise this was not a hotel. Villas round a very good golf course !! The club house had a restaurant but we didn't use it.

This is not a hotel .it is a Golf and Country Club
Asked you for two villas near each other, one with a pool and one without, however this is not possible. The pool villas are entirely separate. We were supposed to have been informed about this but we were not.. Luckily they had a pool villa vacant close to the other one and they let us have that. I think it was you who were supposed to tell us as they did not have our email address. Otherwise everything was good pwith our holiday in spite of a worring start. And at 80 plus years old you don't want that !

Excellent stay in Castro Marim Golf Club
Check in was fairly fast, we were escorted to apartment and shown all the amenities. Enjoyed a swim in the large immaculate pool. Grounds are well-maintained. Could not have been better....wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the area and accommodations.

Great golf resort
We stay two nights at this resort, near the Spanish/Portugal boarder. Although the weather was very windy, it lived up to our expectations. For the price we paid it was a very good bargain. We did not play golf, but the three nine hole courses looked to be on excellent shape.

It was great to stay in a villa rather than cramped hotel room. Villa was brand new with air con and electronic window blinds. Well designed for privacy. Great location near Castro Marim which is a lovely medieval town.

Restful Spot in Faro District
The Castro Marim Golf and Country Club is really a great quiet place for family vacation not far away from the ocean side. Villas are fully equipped with all the necessary staff. Swimming pools are clean and nice for both adults and kids. Moreover, the resort card provides discount on some restaurants in the area.

Beautiful villa- remote but peaceful
We booked this villa 2 days before travelling. We were looking to just get away for a few days for some sunshine and tranquility- and this did not disappoint. Although the villa complex is part of the Castro Marim golf resort we were not there for the sport. The villa was new and although we had booked a 2 bedroom villa we actually had 3 bedrooms all with en suite facilities and TV. One bedroom and bathroom was suitable for my son who uses a wheelchair. All bedrooms also had spacious wardrobes although a lot of the space was taken up with extra towels and bed linen provided. The kitchen was equipped with all high tech appliances and the sitting room was spacious and comfortable and it was just a step out onto the sunny patio. We were there during the second week of June so not high season and many of the villas seemed unoccupied which meant that it was very quiet and peaceful although I suspect that even at it' s busiest it would not be overly noisy. This is an ideal place if you are looking for somewhere quiet but a car is essential as there are no facilities on site and the Golf clubhouse and restaurant are not an easy walk away. The main clubhouse and restaurant were in the process of being refurbished and were due to be reopened within a week or two after our stay. Meanwhile there were restaurant and bar facilities available by the golf course although we did not sample the cuisine.

Ideal
Located just short of the border with Spain, and about 40 minutes from Faro airport, this is part of the Algarve yet to be over developed. Very quiet location although it must be noted early May isn't height of the season! Staff were extremely courteous and helpful; when we arrived our villa wasn't ready (they have 2 & 3 bed villas as well as villas with pools) so we were offered a drink whilst we waited; after 15 minutes we were escorted to our villa (which is necessary if your first visit because quite a way from the reception) and very impressed with the standard of accommodation. Unfortunately the main clubhouse is currently being refurbished but from the outside looks very elegant; the temporary clubhouse is functional but it would be unfair to judge Castro Marim G&CC on this as they are obviously working very hard to get the work finalised as soon as possible. For a golfing holiday, family break (fabulous beaches only 10 minute drive away) or just a few days away in the sun this is an ideal location. We will be back!
