My stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Bethlehem was very disappointing. The hotel is outdated, but the biggest issue was the nauseating smell in the room. The overpowering scent of chlorine and bleach was unbearable and made it impossible to feel comfortable. I couldn’t stay in the room for more than a few minutes without feeling physically sick. I asked the front desk if I could move to another room, but they told me there were no available rooms and that all rooms likely had the same smell due to the cleaning products they use. I wasn’t informed about this at the time of booking, which made my stay incredibly unpleasant. When I asked for help, they told me to call Expedia to cancel the reservation since I booked through them. I did just that, and Expedia called the front desk on my behalf. However, the hotel refused to cancel my reservation and denied my request for a refund, even though I had only checked in 1 hour earlier. They insisted I had to stay the full two nights. The staff was unhelpful, and I was left feeling completely frustrated by the lack of customer service.
