"The hotel doesn't look that inviting on arrival as outside the steps are a bit broken and untidy. Inside is really nice though. Nice eating area around bar and separate dining room just off it. Our room was quite small and tired looking in parts. The bed was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Vicky was especially kind. If I had one thing putting me off was the hotel welcomed dogs but I felt there was a smell in the eating area which might not to be everyone's choice. . That aside I would recommend hotel to people."

"Excellent service from Marianna who welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel at home straight away! We were upgraded to a room with a hot tub which very spacious, clean, and had everything you would need, including towels, slippers, dressing gowns, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel. Outside the room, we had a decking area with chairs and a table surrounded by lovely shrubs and flowers- super peaceful and quiet to enjoy stargazing! Breakfast served at The joiners arms ( 5 mins walk) was more than adequate; you could choose from a selection of yoghurts, breads and pastries plus a choice of a hot breakfast. For one of the days, we had a grab and go- breakfast delivered to our room containing a carton of juice, hot sausage and bacon roll, yoghurt, water, fruit cereal bar and a piece of fresh fruit. This was very good as we could eat it on route for an early start. The location was perfect- 10 mins walk to the beach and ships in was perfect. Overall, we had an excellent stay and was a great base to see the main sites of Northumberland. We would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again."

"Welcoming staff, Alnwick is lovely. Room large, clean with tea and biscuits- great. Standard pub food, leak and potato soup more mash potato, but gammon and chips nice. Good helpful service throughout"

"What a fabulous friendly place. We came on Friday night when they were having a charity night quiz. What an amazing atmosphere the people were just so lovely. We’ll be back again and hopefully join in this time. The landlady Clair had seen us standing and came over and found us a table. Although we didn’t have tickets for the quiz we felt very much a part of it Thank you"
