Truly an exceptional place. The house and our room (Naples) was like a dream. Even in winter where the outdoor facilities (pool etc) are not usable, there's nothing negative to say. It was worth the expense.

Absolutely breathtaking property, tucked away in the bustling city of Avignon. From the moment we arrived, Jean-Luc and Valérie were incredibly welcoming and couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable. We had the best night's sleep we've had in ages – the bed was so comfortable, and the whole house is full of charm and character. We stayed at the Villa Mazarin for a belated anniversary treat and were blown away by the service, the room and the location. I'd also asked for champagne and flowers to celebrate and these were top notch. The team at Villa Mazarin were without exception very helpful and also very tolerant of my terrible French when trying to get directions/a restaurant recommendation/chat about the weather! Great staff and the location was great. The bar/restaurant downstairs was also good and no sound came into the hotel rooms.

Ideal location to discover Arles, La Camargue, Saint Remy, Des Alpilles as well as many other famous and beautiful locations. Only 45 mins from Marseille airport. Hotel based on an industrial estate so don't expect stunning views.

Beautiful place for a relaxing trip

We loved our stay at Le Calendal. Since we were traveling with our son we chose a triple room. To our surprise the room was spacious but most importantly facing the amphitheater! There was also a terrace with small table to sit outside but no matter where you stood in the room you saw it just right! Everything about Maison Douce is excellent! Owner Nathalie treats you as a personal house guest, doing her best to see you have a great time in Arles. Maison Douce is an old house with very modern stylish internal fittings: the rooms are comfortable, spacious and quiet. Some brighter reading lights would be welcome! Parking is on street but hotel owner will move his car if nothing available. Parking permit needed from hotel. Very friendly staff. Very helpful for suggesting places to visit and places to eat. Room spacious. Breakfast good value. Terminus restaurant nearby excellent value. Town easily walkable. Castle interesting.

It's great

A lovely hotel in a cosy nook. 14th century walls blend in with modern decor. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the restaurant served the best soup ever. Highly recommended, as long as you don't mind the absence of a lift.

This is a fantastic villa, I would highly recommended it for a romantic break or a getaway at any time. Ideally located in a sweet village, the locals are extremely friendly. A car is handy to visit local attractions but not essential.
