We felt it was way overpriced for what it is. Your basic beach hotel. For the money we could have stayed at a nice bed and breakfast. The gift shop was a tacky over stuffed set of rooms with so much crammed in you couldn’t see anything. We stayed there for sentimental reasons as my husband spent summers in OC. Have to say we were disappointed. You are paying for the name and history.

First time staying here although I was aware of this property for years and have attended other business functions and at least one wedding over the years. It was a wonderful stay! Great staff, accommodations, etc. We will be back!

The only reason for the downgrade from 5 star is that the heater for the pool was broken and the pool water was colder than the ocean—both of which would have caused hypothermia after full immersion.

Nice Relaxing Winter Getaway

Very nice. The suite was better than we expected as was the ocean view. We had beautiful weather which made everything nicer. Staff very friendly and helpful. Since it is the off-season, the place was very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely plan to return in the winter again and we will request the same suite.

It was so much nicer than I expected. We had a room next door to my brothers and family. The only thing I miss at the beach is a balcony, but you can open the windows and feel the sea breeze. Staff was great. Usually we stay in quieter areas, but this was really nice for a change.

Delightful place, great history, restaurateur is nice and everyone very helpful. Boardwalk near by. Stayed on a warm winter day, all the amusement rides were closed. So it was nice and quiet. If we stay during the summer I’d request a room on the other side of the building for that reason.

The Flanders is an historic hotel and has maintained a sense of tradition throughout. You can envision men and women dressed in fine clothing walking about the lobby, on their way to a dinner gala or an afternoon tea. The hotel still offers a supper club that you as a guest get a complimentary membership to during your stay. The staff are gracious, welcoming and highly accommodating. The rooms are bright and warm, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the kitchenette a full size galley style with everything you need. The facilities are well-kept and easy to access, and the pool is clean and surrounded by more upscale sun loungers and a few sections of outdoor couches for family gathering. The hotel is right on the OCNJ boardwalk, convenient to rides, shopping and restaurants. Bring your bikes and hop up on the boardwalk for a morning ride. We loved our stay and will definitely be back to the Flanders!
