"Since our visit was so short, I can only speak to the hotel room and check-in experience—we simply didn’t have enough hours in the day to take advantage of the casino, restaurants, pool, or other amenities.
One immediate plus: parking was free, which is always appreciated in Atlantic City. We arrived on a Friday evening around 7:00 p.m., and check-in was both pleasant and surprisingly fast. No long lines or unnecessary hassle, which made for a good first impression.
One interesting thing I discovered while walking down the hallway to get ice was that there appears to be a noticeable difference between the standard rooms and the upgraded/remodeled rooms. You can almost tell by the hallway décor: **red hallways appear to lead to the older or regular rooms, while the white hallways seem to be where the renovated rooms are located.Had I known that beforehand, I might have looked more closely at the different room categories when booking. Our room itself was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay. The bathroom had a tub/shower combination, although unfortunately the **drain was clogged**, which was the one real negative we encountered. From our window, we could see the outdoor pool area and hot tubs, and I definitely wished we had more time to enjoy them. They looked inviting, but with only one night there, we simply couldn't fit everything in.As far as price, I thought the Golden Nugget was moderately priced for a Friday night in Atlantic City.It was pleasurable experience."
